National Association of Independent Schools Annual Conference

A resident of Norfolk, Connecticut, Amy Purcell Vorenberg most recently worked as head of school for Beauvoir, The National Cathedral Elementary School in Washington, DC. While there, she redesigned the school’s administrative platform and developed programming to support diversity and inclusion. To help her remain current with changes in education, Amy Purcell Vorenberg maintains membership in the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS).

Established in 1962, the nonprofit NAIS offers assistance to more than 1,800 schools and associations across the globe. Of these, more than 1,500 are independent private K-12 schools in the United States.

One of the annual events hosted by the NAIS is its conference, with the 2018 event held in March in Atlanta, Georgia. Typically bringing together more than 5,000 participants, the conference includes numerous one- or three-hour workshops, more than 200 exhibitors, and several keynote speakers, along with networking opportunities and hands-on activities. The 2019 NAIS conference is scheduled for February 27-March 1 in Long Beach, California.
